Wedding at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
This Pfister hotel wedding was an absolute blast to shoot. The wedding was the Great Gatsby themed and the couple knocked it out of the park.

About The Pfister Hotel
Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for well over a century. As one of the best hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, it’s located near the historic Third Ward and continues to celebrate a grand tradition of gracious service and impeccable style. From the moment guests arrive they’ll notice the extraordinary architecture inside and out punctuated by a welcoming ambiance from staff and fellow guests alike. The Pfister hotel has multiple stunning ballrooms for weddings and events.
Hotel Prep Photos
I began photographing the prep across the street at both the bride and grooms’ place of work. There was an awesome view of the city and it was a great place to shoot photos! After doing groom prep I headed over to the hotel where the bride and bridesmaids were hanging out. We did a few sets and got some awesome photos!

First Look
I found a great spot in the shade outside to do the first look right where I did pictures of the dress. The light was so cool in this spot.

Wedding Party
I chose a clean light background for the wedding party photos. Their outfits for the wedding day were so unique and I wanted to bring all the attention of the image to their attire. A neutral color wall was the right choice to do this and still have a working color palette.

Great Gatsby Themed Wedding Bride and Groom Portraits
We went all in on the art deco style with these two. There were a few spots I wanted to hit and a few spots the couple wanted to hit. Thankfully the light cooperated and we were able to get these stunning wedding portraits!

Ceremony
The ceremony for this Pfister hotel wedding was held in the imperial ballroom. A gorgeous backdrop for a wedding ceremony. The sun was setting behind the couple and that allowed me to get some unique sun flare shots during the ceremony. I loved the flowers and décor.

The Pfister Hotel Ballroom Reception
The reception was held in the imperial ballroom as well. There’s a side room that opens up for cocktail hour while they flip the ballroom from ceremony to reception. After a five course wedding dinner this couple had the most awesome dance party complete with a smoke machine and money gun. This one will be tough to beat! I used a mixture of long exposures and regular flash images to capture this part of the wedding.
